Announcement!...
We have an official logo now! And........ a website is coming! Hopefully the website will be done in 2 weeks. Actually, just hold me to it.
Really stoked on the logo though! I had the idea that I wanted a yin yang of the sun & moon with stars & wind included. -Just wasn't sure how to make this look beautiful on the computer/as a logo. So put my idea on DesignCrowd.com & a bunch of people competed to design the logo for MerSea. Very cool! It was harder thank I thought it was going to be to narrow it down from about 9 amazing drawings. It really ended up coming down to 2 but Matt helped me decide that the simplier one was better for a logo. However, I think I'll definitely be in touch with the runner up. I really loved his work too!
As far as the website goes, I need to finish a few things before sharing it with all of you. Right now I am teaching myself on how to use a Gopro & edit videos. So if there are any videos on the website in 2 weeks, set your expectations low. Hey, we're Gen X! Things in the digital world are becoming less & less intuitive to us. And our child, who is furry & walks around on the ground on 4 legs & can't teach us anything relating to media. We do know how to break an animal's neck in our jaws though. So we'll see who out there can survive better than us during the apocalypse.
Matt set up the AIS & now we can see who's out & about on the water. This all seems like magic to me. -Both him setting it up & what it does.
It never ceases to amaze me that Matt likes doing this stuff. Or that someone who didn't go to school for this can figure it out.
Meanwhile, Zephyr decided to go into deep meditation & keep things around the boat warm by laying on top of them or near them. He is so amazing at this! Hmmm.... maybe I'd be good at this too. I'll have to ask Matt. Although, he'd probably prefer it if I did something more productive so we can continue to support ourselves.
After we got our anchor in place we had lunch & I decided to get some sun. So hard to get motivated to go back into the cabin to do work on the computer. Have to remind myself that some people have to do computerwork in a cubicle instead of a boat cabin. I know I'm very lucky! If I'm at home though, I don't do this. I stay inside & work. -Partly because our house & yard are so cold & partly because I'm allergic to the trees around our house & partly because I think if I stay inside & work I'll finish faster. That is an illusion though because there's always some type of work to be done at home. MerSea "forces" us to enjoy life & nature when we're on her.
Zephyr set up a toll bridge with a towel in front of the companionway. Matt was working downstairs at this point. So if he wanted to come up on deck he would have to pay the King of the Cockpit!
One thing I'm realizing, is that on a boat the size of ours, all one can do is try to keep things in order or out of the way as much as possible. To have a perfectly organized or completely tidy boat all the time is an exercise in futility. I'm sure on a bigger boat this might be more readily possible. However, for us, we just need to put things where they fit & where we can remember to find them. A lot of the time you need to take out ten things from a compartment to get to just one thing. We've really gotten used to living with quite a bit less than we do in our house. In fact, many times I've come home after being on the boat & just want to throw a bunch of stuff in our house away. -Mostly paperwork! Too many things to dust & to wipe down & clean. My clothing collection is fine! No need to look in my closet. It's all useful! Trust me!
The night was rolly & we ended up hearing new noises. Nothing to fear but just annoying as sometimes it's hard to find where they are coming from. So then there's no way to stop it. I'll have to ask Matt's opinion but I find it more annoying when the noise comes along randomly instead of at a steady pace. I can usually fall asleep if the noise is consistent. If it's coming along after 8 minutes one time & then 3 minutes another, I will get jolted awake. Luckily the next day I did have some time to take a nap.
Well, that's our story for this last week for the most part. Apologies for this post being on the short side. My parents are coming up tomorrow. So I won't have the time or concentration able to get more happenings in. Next Wednesday there will be a lot more interesting, (hopefully in the good kind of way), things to be shared.
As always, I really appreciate your likes & follows & I thank you for reading these posts!
