Back To Reality, Back To Reality…March 26th - 31st, 2024
Well, it’s all reality but it’s the reality that is a little more routine, easy & the kind that more people can relate to. -Well, I guess that is debatable. Either way, we feel lucky. -Just really fell in love with Mexico. And it was hard to leave. But now we get the chance to see family & friends.
Like I said in the last post, my parents rescued us from the RV life that we realized we were a little inept at.
We stayed with them for almost a week. -In which one of those days was a racing day for my dad. We joined him on his trimaran! It was really fun to sail with a different kind of mindset than the one we’d had the previous 6 months. Even though it was a race, it felt a little relaxing.
Lovely dinner in the harbor after sailing.
The son in law & father photo shoot!
After several days, it was time to get back to where we needed to be. So we rented a car & drove it back to Santa Cruz.
Since we had people renting our place when we returned, we decided to rent a small apartment that Matt co-owns & manages. Not exactly inexpensive but it was the best option for us when getting back to Santa Cruz. And since we had been used to living on a boat for the last 6 months, the place seemed spacious!
Getting settled in.
I’ll go more into detail in what’s it’s been like to be back in Santa Cruz during the summer in a few weeks. It’s been interesting. All I will say is that it was much harder to adjust to being back than to adjust to living the boat life.
Thanks for reading! I can’t believe that it won’t be too long until I start talking about Voyage #2 of MerSea! Although, I am hoping to put a little more into the videos & a little less into the blog. -We’ll see how things unfold. Next week we’ll be showing a mini video of San Felipe. I say, mini, as I didn’t record as much. -You’ll see why. Until then, let us know, in the comments below, what travel plans you have for this coming year!
