MerSea Makes A Splash!: November 12th, 2024

It seemed as this day would never come! That may sound dramatic but it felt like it took forever to get MerSea back into the water. -One whole month! We thought it was only going to be 2 weeks from the day we got to Puerto Penasco. We weren’t so lucky.

However, we do know people that it took much longer to splash than it did for us. Some people we know are still having to get parts delivered & things fixed.

Patience is key. It all goes back to patience. Although money helps too. -And having conveniences close by. And being around people you like. If you can manage being in a dust free place, that is a luxury! Oh & weather that feels pleasant to be in!

Going out with our friend, James, a few nights before splashing.

We woke up bright & early on Tuesday, November 12th. However, then there is the waiting game. The tide has to be high enough. Plus, you never know what number you are in line to splash. You could be the first boat of the day or you could be the last. We were lucky enough to be the 2nd boat to splash. I think it was just after lunch that day.

Here it is, documented in photos, the big task of getting MerSea back into her place. -In the water!

Once we got MerSea into the sea again we could clean her up & put everything in it’s place; including the genoa. -Reminder to everyone: Document taking things down. It will make it much easier to get things done right when you haven’t been at your boat for 6 months!

And here it is on video! Our long awaited splash day! From this point on, MerSea will be in the water. -At least until April.

Wow! Now we can really begin our adventure! I mean all of it is an adventure. But it’s nice when you own a boat & can finally do boat stuff.

Comfy in his cave.

Thanks for reading! Get ready for next week, when we actually head south! OMG!
