Reunited!: October 12 - …, 2024
We saw her across the boatyard & all of us ran & embraced each other! Okay, but I’m sure that MerSea would have ran to us if she could.
Actually, we got to drive our car up to her. So nice that we could get all of the crap out of our car right there & walk it all up the rickety stairs to the cockpit. It was very hot that day. -Probably 98 degrees. So, it wasn’t exactly the most pleasant to be inside the boat. We thought we’d be able to handle sleeping there. However, it didn’t cool down until after midnight. I could sleep but I don’t think Zephyr or Matt did very well. Actually, I didn’t sleep, now that I think about it. I was too worried about Zephyr getting overheated. We had fans on & all of the hatches open but the airflow in MerSea isn’t the best. I’d say it’s totally fine if it’s less than 90 degrees or out on the water. But being in the boatyard, it was dusty & stuffy.
Getting back to Mexico, Puerto Penasco, Cabrales Boatyard & MerSea!
So, halfway through day 2, I broke down & booked us an Airbnb. It would just be nice to have a cooler place for my boys to go to. -At least in the evening, for Matt. We thought we would be able to tough it out. I didn’t want to be spending money that we didn’t have to but I felt it was pretty necessary. Plus, working on the boat & organizing it doesn’t really allow for anywhere to sit down & relax on it.
Our 1st Airbnb!
High rise view. -At least we were by the water!
There was plenty of boat work to be done! I have to say that Matt did most everything! Pressure-washing the boat, painting the hull, getting the batteries & solar to work again…I’ll just leave it there for this week. Next week you’ll be a little inundated with the tons of stuff Matt took care of.
I worked on cleaning the inside of the boat & organizing it. And taking care of Zephyr. -Mostly making sure he got 2 walks a day; before & after it got super hot. Oh & writing the blog, putting together videos & working on some remote worky stuff.
Matt paints the hull!
We have a mini video out this week on our YouTube channel. -Just a little tast of what’s to come in the following weeks.
We also have a new limited edition sweatshirt! Probably a little late for a Christmas gift. -Although, if you’re the kind of person who gives out Christmas gifts late, then it’s a great gift!
That’s a wrap for this week! Next week we’ll be getting into the thick of our Puerto Penasco happenings.
No matter where he is, Zephyr always finds “his” spot.
Thanks for reading! Come back next week for a full length video & muchos fotografias! Until then, may the weather treat you well!
