SoCal Photo Blog - Ensenada Race Part 1

Matt, Zephyr & I drove down to SoCal this last week to crew for my Dad in the Ensenada Race. -That is the 75th Newport to Ensenada Race!

What happened? You want all the info? Well, I’m posting photos from the first half of the week. So, not really a wordy blog this time. -Mainly because it’s late on Tuesday night & I want to get something out for the morning.

Enjoy the photos below for now & I’ll be posting more next week; along with all the crazy details.

The 3 of us getting ready to drive down to Laguna. I think the last time Matt & I drove to Laguna it was 2011 & we said that we’d never do it again. However, now that Zephyr is in our lives we wanted to bring him along too. -Thus the drive, instead of a flight.

No thank you! Why sit in rush hour when you can sail? -And go at a pace 10 times the slowness of even the worst rush hour.

The hills around San Luis Obispo. I’ve never seen them so green at this time of year before!

The closest being to a human sailboat, himself: Colin, our brother-in-law! He knows more about sailing than there are stars in the sky! -Does that make sense? No! But, well…. oh, you get the point.

Below is a photo montage of us going out on my Dad’s boat, Trifecta, the day before the race to get a sense of what we would be doing.

Dad signing in for the race. And us at the welcome dinner the night before.

The day of the race:

“Yeah, so? I go out for a spin when my parents are off sailing. You got a problem with that?”

Thanks for gazing upon our photos this week! I promise to have the whole fascinating story for you all next Wednesday - along with many more photos. 😘
