Video Version of Bahia Magdalena & Appreciation Where It’s Due!
A little over a month ago, I spoke of our time in & about Magdalena Bay. Well, here is the video version of that. Unfortunately you’ll just have to take our word for the exciting parts. Filming hasn’t been the first thing on my mind when we need to jump to a situation. So, we sit down for a chat to describe our times of difficulty. However, you will get to see us when we are merrily rolling along the sea. I’m still figuring out all this video stuff. I hope you can be patient with me. If anything, watch it if you need to procrastinate on a project.
One thing I do want to point out, as much as I’ve talked about or thought about getting a bigger boat, I am amazed how far this boat has come to be an incredible home. I really want to say I appreciate how much Matt has done to this boat to make it so wonderful! He has put some much love into this boat! Just a few things that he’s done:
-Fixed our engine when it failed at the entrance to the Santa Cruz Harbor.
-Installed a proper VHF.
-Installed a hot water heater tank.
-Put plexiglass over our gauge panel in the cockpit.
-Fixed our roller furling after it got bent.
-Made a cockpit table.
-Installed a second anchor.
-Put in new batteries.
-Put magnets on the door to the head so it could stay open at times & not clang around.
-Fixed all of our electrical issues.
-Installed new lights on the mast.
-Put LED bulbs on the inside lights.
-Re-affixed chain plates.
-Tightened stays, now that we aren’t tabernacling.
-Put in braces to hold our pots on the stove.
-Installed a USB port in the binnacle.
-Set up our autopilot.
-Set up our solar panels & controls.
-Set up our EPIRB.
-Put lazy jacks up.
-Put jack lines on the deck.
And so much more….
I can honestly say that he is constantly improving MerSea. He’s made it such a awesome, traveling abode for us. I am so lucky to have someone so dedicated to make this boat so comfortable & safe. I am thankful every day for it & for him. Thank you Babee!
Yep, that’s all that I’m going to write up about this week. I’ve got to spend some of my time experiencing the places that we’re in. But it is fun to share. -The ups & downs of this whole adventure.
Zephyr is also looking at me, like, “Aren’t you going to at least pay attention to me if you’re sitting inside MerSea at your computer?!”. Yes, Zephyr. Yes, I am.
Thanks for reading & watching! Come back next week to read about our visits to different anchorages as we make our way up the Sea of Cortez. Have a beautiful week!
