We’re Going Pro!
Okay. We’re not exactly becoming professional sailors or bloggers but we do now have some merchandise! What’s available? Right now we have t-shirts in 4 different colors & a mug for sale.
I thought we’d celebrate having the blog going steadily for a year now with these goodies. They are made to order -which I love, so that there isn’t any waste.
So if you want to be a part of our honorary crew, just click on the link https://my-store-d79f8a.creator-spring.com to get yourself some official MerSea swag! Or you can go up to the tab at the top of the page that says “Treat Yourself” to check out the merchandise there.
One thing to note is that the sizes do run a bit on the snug side. So you may want to order a size up.
These are the shirts we have gotten for ourselves. We still need to do a little photo shoot with them on.
Now for this last week’s business. Again I had to work, while Matt was able to make his way to MerSea to work on a few things.
Matt decided it was a good time to change out the anchor. Not because the anchor we had was bad but we just happened to acquire a nice new shiny one. Why & how? Well that’s a long story for another day.
Ugh. Okay. I’ll tell the story. I was keeping this from all of you because it’s somewhat, no actually a-lot-what, embarrassing.
Back on the day we returned from our long voyage from southern California, we stopped at the fuel dock. We decided to get fuel & pump out because the tide wasn’t low enough to get under the bridge to our slip. After doing both, we still had time to kill, so moved out of the way to let other boats dock & decided to dock around the corner of the fuel dock. In doing this, I backed up into another boat’s anchor & slightly bent it. I’m not even totally sure how it happened but I couldn’t maneuver the boat well enough. (See! Marinas are more dangerous than the open ocean!) The guy was really cool about it because we couldn’t even see if there was any damage to his anchor. We exchanged numbers “just in case” though. Well, he got in touch a few weeks later & we made a deal that we would pay him so he could get a new anchor. We decided that if we were going to part with $750, we would take the slightly damaged anchor off of his hands. So we have a nice new shiny anchor & I have docking PTSD. When will there be a self-docking app for a boat? Someone get on that.
Good as new! Wait it was new. I still have yet to see the dent in it.
Matt also scrubbed the boat from bow to stern & got rid of the “scuff” marks on the side. She looks so good! I can’t wait to get back on her! -To dirty her up again. Although her bottom probably does need a good scrapping. 😁
She’s ready to go out on the town/sea!
Just some lovely photos of the sky that Matt took & I decided to add just for the hell of it.
That’s the gist of this week. Hoping we can get the boat out of the harbor this next week. -Even if it’s just to motor about. They are still dredging sand from the harbor mouth. So boats haven’t been able to leave the harbor for about over a month!
Thanks so much for reading! If you happen to purchase anything, we’d love to see a photo of you sporting a MerSea t-shirt or sipping from a MerSea mug. We won’t post it up -unless you give us permission. Here is the link once again: https://my-store-d79f8a.creator-spring.com See you next week!
