Return To Santa Rosalia!: November 24th - 26th, 2024

It was so wonderful to get back to Santa Rosalia! It’s such a charming little town & not visited much by tourists. There’s something really comforting about being in this place. The tight-knit community, I’m sure, has a lot to do with it.

We only got to stay there for 2 days this time. Kind of sad. But we were on a schedule to get down to La Paz for the holidays. So, we made the best of the little time we had there. -Like going to our favorite restaurant, Ma Sabor! And then just walking around the town to see some of the same sites we went to last time & to do more exploring. It’s so nice that you don’t need a car here!

Even though we had a lot to take care of while in the marina, we did make a point each day to get out & get lost in town.

Matt had gotten out the last time we were there & explored while I was putting together videos & the blog on MerSea. So he showed me a lot of cool places around Santa Rosalia. This time I was definitely not going to miss out on the fun of running around & having fun.

Santa Rosalia Cemetery overlooking the sea.

One unique thing about Santa Rosalia is that it’s the only town in Baja where all the building are constructed with wood instead of concrete or stucco. -I explain this more in the video. But it gives the town a quaint feeling.

Wandering & getting lost around town.

We did go through some of the old, abandoned copper mining equipment scattered about town but this time we made it to the museum. Pretty interesting. And it’s in a neat part of town up on the northern hill overlooking everything.

The Santa Rosalia Museum of the copper mines. -Or should I say the record-keeping of the copper mines.

It was really fun that the holidays were approaching & the whole town gets into the spirit! I mean it was a month early & everyone was eager to decorate!

The town becomes magical at night!

Hooray! We have a fun video this week on Santa Rosalia! Hopefully, it’s a little better than the Santa Rosalia we put out from last year. We do show a few different areas of the city. Click on the pic below & enjoy!

So happy to be back again in a place we love. I think this voyage is starting to take shape the way we hoped it would.

I’ve come to collect the tax you owe. I will accept yogurt, bananas, oatmeal, carrot or fish!

Thanks for reading! Come back next week for some hunkering down in an anchorage during a very windy 5 days!
