Setbacks
Well, sicknesses of all kinds have been going around. Matt’s right hand man got sick. I have been fighting something yucky off & on this last week. And this has left Matt to go into major super-hero mode! -Getting the last cleaning & fixing up of our house done.
I tried to help as much as possible & probably would be completely fine right now if I didn’t work as hard as I did to get things all moved out of our house. I didn’t really have a choice though. Matt may be a super-hero but it was crazy the last few days we had to get our house ready for our new renters.
Matt greeted our residents yesterday. He said it definitely felt weird to “hand” over our house to someone else. It hasn’t hit me yet. -Probably because I wasn’t there. However, when I think about it. It does feel odd. Maybe a little un-nerving. We’ve lived there since 2007.
We’ve also had to order a new refrigerator & a new washer & dryer set. So basically the people now living in our house have all new appliances! Lucky them! -As we are now without any appliances. Well, we do have an oven & stove.
So, needless to say, things are moving a lot slower than we anticipated. Matt needs to do a lot to get his worky-work taken care of before we head out. He’s been short-handed for a whole week. This does mean we won’t be able to leave on our “planned” departure date. But still praying we can leave before October comes along. Although, we can’t rush anything & the weather will have to be the one to give us the final go-ahead.
I’m on organizational duty on MerSea. It’s slow going but it’s going. Trying to rest in between getting things moved out of bags & into their new homes on the boat.
Matt, the picture of health & me cuddling Zephyr for comfort in my “under the weatherness”.
MerSea does feel like home. A small home. A home without a shower or a washer or a dryer. I don’t think the washer/dryer issue is really bothering me but I do long for the ability to take a hot shower on the boat. Someday….. We are lucky though to have a comfy boat! I think Zephyr could stay in the v-berth all day!
Thanks for reading! Hoping I will start to mend tomorrow & be able to capture all the relaxing, fun times before our departure! -A girl can dream! And why not aim for the miraculous & positive story?! Wish us luck this week!
